Affordable piano/composition lessons!

Experienced piano instructor seeks new students! Currently in graduate
school at NYU. Instructor will travel to your home; discounted rate
available to students on Roosevelt Island. Seeking beginning and
intermediate students of all ages; good with kids. Especially
interested in working with children with disabilities. Hands-on
approach; curriculum varies based on student's goals. Music is for
everyone!
Piano lessons will cover:
- Piano (technique, interpretation, literature, performance, etc.)
- Fundamentals of music theory
- Sight-reading*
- Accompaniment*
- Playing by ear/improvisation*
(* by request)
Also offering:
- Songwriting
- Composition
- Vocal coaching for opera/musical theatre performers (contact for
rates; you provide the space)
Willing to travel to:
- Roosevelt Island
- Upper East Side/Midtown East
- Astoria/Long Island City
Lesson times currently available Friday, Saturday, and Sunday through
May; more days available beginning this summer.
Rates:
$49/hr -- $24.50/half hour
$45/hr -- $22.50/half hour (Roosevelt Island residents)
Books and materials generally cost about $30 per term, depending on
the curriculum. Piano students must have a piano or keyboard (with at
least semi-weighted keys) at home, or a space with the same must be
available.
