Hi. I spent the summer popping into the pool on Roosevelt Island and noticed many families with young kids, and some with one on the way. I am a single 38 year old responsible woman who majored in early childhood development and education but decided to work in NY in financial services instead. I work 8:30-5 in management consulting everyday, but it is a quality of life job (meaning I can sneak out to a yoga class at lunch or right after work with no overtime). After years on Wall street, this was what I wanted.
My motivating factor for reaching out for this kind of position is two fold. Financial in nature as my full time roll is quality of life, and does not pay for my healthcare. More importantly, I do love children and would love to enrich and be enriched by being involved with a family/child/children from a minimal weekly babysitting gig to a 3x a week scheduled play date/babysitting date. I obviously went to college to work with kids, I love being and playing with them as well as lightly teaching them right from wrong, and showing through example how to be a good person. That is why I studied development in school.
I recently moved to Sunnyside, and it is much quieter and less social, which I like, but I find I have a lot of downtime, and feel like not only can I make a difference for families who need a responsible adult to care for their child/children, I would like to meet a lovely family and form a relationship with a family and their child/children.
I am very flexible weekends usually afternoon-?/weeknights vary, but can pickup from aftercare, cook, tutor, and put to bed. Live in Sunnyside.
Best,
